The Story Behind the Critters
I am a retired teacher who taught High School students the classes of Child Development, Education/Training and Fashion Design. These upper classmen were prepared for the career of teaching grades Pre-K through 3rd. One of our favorite projects was the Critter Project. My students would select a Kindergarten class from our local elementary and have each student draw a critter. My Education students would choose one of the critters and write a story book with it as the main character. My Fashion Design students would also choose a critter and sew it into a custom plushie. The delivery of the books and critters was a magical moment! The Kindergarten teacher would always keep it a secret which amplified the excitement of that delivery day!
